If you are a Realtor you hear the same question all the time from strangers once they find out you’re in real estate: “How’s the market?”
The truth is that if you are a great Realtor the market is great. If you are a crap agent the market will feel like a crap market.
People will always be buying and selling homes. People die, they get divorced, they have kids and outgrow, they lose jobs, they get promotions, they get transferred, they downsize, upsize and right size. The great agents are out there seizing opportunities. The crap agents are waiting for things to fall into their lap. Newsflash. They won’t just fall into your lap. I don’t care how much money you spend on Zillow.
So if you ask me “how’s the market?” I’m going to answer you truthfully. It’s great. It’s really popping and there’s a TON of buyers out there and not a lot of inventory. If I were a seller I’d be all over it and get myself listed ASAP. Even things that have been sitting are going into multiple offers. For goodness’ sake if you are a seller GET IN THE GAME RIGHT NOW. You won’t regret it.
If you are a buyer, understand there are great houses to be had, and still deals to be made but you need to get your game face on and hire a GREAT agent who can get you in to see houses BEFORE they are listed. That’s the ticket in a market like this. I just sent a client a new listing that’s not on the market yet. Maybe she’ll buy it before you even know it existed. True story.
